ABOUT

Emily Linares was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela (1997), lives and works in New York.

Throughout her work, she represents experiences related to political oppression, exile, statelessness, and immigration. Emily Linares' work condenses the effects on the emotions and behaviors of individuals in reaction to their relationships to the places they emigrate. Her installations that include oil painting, light mapping, drawing, or strings shape borders, limitations, and arbitrary roots.
